Welcome to Saskatoon…home of Kjendra!
Known as Canada’s Science City thanks to the research-intensive University of Saskatchewan, buzzing research park Innovation Place, and state-of-the-art research facilities such as the Canadian Light Source (Canada’s only synchrotron facility), and Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization/InterVac. It is home to many high-tech firms developing both hardware and software.
A medium-sized city of roughly 300,000 people, Saskatoon is the most populous city in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It is nestled on the river valley of the South Saskatchewan River, in the heart of extremely fertile agricultural land, some of the largest deposits of potash in the world, and in a central location for both a thriving oil economy in the south of the province and a very large uranium and resource mining industry in the north of the province. The city is also one of the fastest growing in Canada.
Saskatoon is unique in its experience – it is a vibrant community with big-city amenities and small-town charm. Despite its cold winters, it boasts a very high quality of living, competitive wages, a large arts and cultural scene, world-class dining experiences, and a booming economy. Festivals are always on in the summer, and indoor and outdoor winter activities ensure that there is always something to do year-round.
Innovation, perseverance, and community have always been core values of the city of Saskatoon, and these values are a perfect match for forging the future of the Internet of Things. Kjendra – surrounded by a culture of innovation.
